(HOI) — On Thursday, Gov. JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Transportation announced the third installment of $250 million to be delved out to counties, municipalities and townships across the state as part of the Rebuild Illinois program.
The funds will be used locally to address transportation needs.
The program set aside $1.5 billion for municipal and county projects, according to Pritzker’s office. This is the third of six installments of those funds being distributed.
Projects, which will be selected and managed locally with financial oversight by IDOT, include road and bridge improvements, traffic signal upgrades, new storm sewers and bike paths, sidewalk replacements and other long-term maintenance needs.
