Local roundup: Will C. Wood boys swim to victory - Vacaville Reporter

The Vanden and Will C. Wood high school swam against each other on Thursday, the first meet in over a year for both schools.

Vanden won the girls division 90-37.

Wood was led by Makayla Fawson, who placed first in the 100 fly, and Alison Schonauer, who placed third in the 200 individual medlehy.

The Wildcats won the boys division 60-50.

In a close meet, Wood was led by the winning 200 free relay team of James Torres, Aaron Lee, Robert Strang and Eliya Andrsh.

Lee also placed first in the 50 free, finished second in the 100 fly and second in the 200 free. Torres placed second in the 200 individual medley, second in the 100 free, and second in the 100 backstroke. Strang placed second in the 100 breaststroke.

Varsity boys track

Will C. Wood 131, Rodriguez 0

The Wildcats blanked the Mustangs in Wednesday’s dual meet.

Winners for Wood were Elyjah Ebuen in the 200 and 400 meters, Connor Scott in the 110-meter high hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles, Kris Butters in the high jump, Preston King in the 100 meters, Dezso Ganoza in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters, Donovan Howard in the long jump and triple jump, Rio Garcia in the shot put and discus, Braeden Wieser in the 800 meters, Ebuen, Butters, King and Tiago Harshberger in the 4-by-100 meters, and Scott, Makai Wallace, Jordan Simmons and Joey Kennon in the 4-by-400 meters.

Varsity girls track

Will C. Wood 95, Rodriguez 21

The Wildcats also won the girls division.

Wood winners were Dylan Parks in the 100 and 200 meters, Tea Troche-Jones in the 800 and 1,600 meters, Athena Brombacher in the shot put, discus and high jump, Kaydence Garrison in the 3,200, Lily Wiley in the 100-meter high hurdles, Parks, Wiley, Yaritza Thompson and Jaida Cobbs in the 4-by-100 meters, and Parks, Troche-Jones, Garrison and Wiley in the 4-by-400 meters.

Junior varsity boys track

Will C. Wood 28, Rodriguez 20

The Wildcats got wins from Brian Rodriguez in the shot put and discus, Jaxen Baker in the 800 and 1,600 meters, and Joseph Hilyer in the 100 meters.
