‘Tis the season! Pumpkin season, that is. Local restaurants are utilizing everyone’s favorite gourd to concoct gourmet goodies of both the sweet and savory variety. Here’s a few we’re looking forward to.
Pumpkin Hummus from Picazzo’s Healthy Italian Kitchen
Though it’s not officially available until October 1, we’re already drooling over Picazzo’s seasonal twist on its traditional creamy hummus. Blended with “a touch of pumpkin” (read: not overpowering), all the fall spices (think cinnamon and nutmeg) and topped with olive oil and pumpkin seeds, this dish is one of the many reasons we’re stoked for the start of October. Bonus: Picazzo’s pumpkin hummus is vegan and gluten-free and comes with a spread of flatbread, watermelon radish and heirloom carrots for dipping.

Pumpkin Spice Waffles from U.S. Egg
Pumpkin spice has already permeated our social media feeds in the form of coffee, pastries and pretty much everything you can imagine. If you want to satiate your pumpkin spice craving first thing in the morning, try beloved breakfast eatery U.S. Egg’s pumpkin spice waffles, topped with powdered sugar and whipped cream.

Hard Pumpkin Spice Latte from Mavrix
What’s better than a pumpkin spice latte? A spiked pumpkin spice latte, of course! Get your “boos” and your booze on this fall with The Basic – an iced pumpkin spice latte with vanilla vodka topped with whipped cream, caramel and dash of cinnamon. If being basic is wrong, we don’t want to be right!

Pumpkin Pie from Miracle Mile Deli
In addition to being the start of spooky season, October is also National Dessert Month and Miracle Mile Deli is celebrating with $3 slices of pie with a sandwich or entrée purchase all month long. Patrons can choose from apple, cherry, blueberry, coconut meringue, pecan and Boston cream, but c’mon, nothing beats a classic slice of pumpkin.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies from Crumbl Cookies
Every week, Crumbl comes out with new cookie flavors, and the new batch always seems to be a better lineup than the last. To wit: the all-new pumpkin chocolate chip option – an impossibly soft pumpkin spice cookie packed with layers of gooey, semi-sweet chocolate chips. If you’ve had Crumbl’s classic chocolate chip cookie, you know this is a pretty sweet deal.

Pumpkin Crème Brûlée from Chompie’s
All the fall favorites have returned to this local deli chain – pumpkin bagels, Halloween-themed sugar cookies, pumpkin muffin loaf and last but certainly not least, a decadent and divine pumpkin crème brûlée. Magnifique.
