CREEK COUNTY, Okla. — The Freedom Hill Fire Department raised nearly $8,000 in just 6 hours Saturday afternoon, during a community fundraiser to help replace their fire truck lost in a fire.

People in Creek County organized a spaghetti dinner and bake sale outside Freedom Hill Baptist Church, just south of Mannford.

Volunteers say they had a good turnout saying they even had people from Tulsa make the trip to donate.

Fire officials say the cost to replace the truck is around $10,000.

As a volunteer department, it’s difficult to find funds like that, so everyone involved is grateful for the generous community donations.

If you want to help out you can call the department at (918)352-4102.
