Brescia University and Kentucky Wesleyan College are partnering with Handshake — a platform used to connect students with jobs — for a virtual career fair March 23. Officials say Handshake will give students better access to local jobs, while employers can help retain Owensboro talent.
The fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. within the Handshake platform.
Students and alumni of the local higher education institutions are welcome to attend.

Participants will be able to schedule one-on-one or group sessions with the more than 15 employers attending. A group session is also scheduled with the Owensboro Chamber of Young Professionals.
“We would love as many local employers to participate as possible. Many of our students are excited for the opportunities that are in Owensboro and we want to connect them with local businesses,” said Morgan Russelburg, Director of Career Services at Brescia University. “Our students now have access to local and national jobs while our employers have a much better way to connect to and retain local talent.”
Deborah Jones, Director of Career Development at Kentucky Wesleyan, said they are pleased to collaborate with Brescia to make it more convenient for employers to connect with students from both institutions,
“Going forward, because both KWC and Brescia are a part of the Handshake network, employers will be able to post positions to both schools quickly and easily,” Jones said. “This is an exciting benefit for our students and our community.”
