Grand Forks head swimming & diving coach Brent Newman: “Tonight was the final dual of our regular competition season. We had a surprisingly good night! We weren’t expecting the guys to swim poorly tonight, but we did not expect to have as many season and career best swims as we had. It was another day of some quality swimming and diving, improvement, and competition against a tough team that certainly outnumbered us, but we gave them a solid fight. We started out the evening a little shaky, but something clicked and the guys really started to gain some intensity in the water. Once again, our guys managed their business and took care of swimming their best. We have been working on that attention to detail all year long and it continues to pay off for these guys. We did have a few hiccups along the way that provide our learning experiences we will need to continue to work on as we transition our focus to our final meets of the season. State is a short two weeks away. These guys are ready.”
