Spring2ACTion Aims to Raise $2.5 Million for Local Nonprofits - Alexandria Living Magazine

Spring2ACTion, organized by Alexandria's community foundation ACT for Alexandria, is aiming to raise $2.5 million from 10,000 donors today. 

The annual day of giving raises money for more than 100 nonprofit organizations in Alexandria that serve a wide range of needs for residents and causes. You can donate to your favorite nonprofit here and keep track of the results all day on Spring2ACTion.org.

To help raise money, a number of businesses are hosting parties, giveaways and more for residents who donate to Spring2ACTion. In addition, several restaurants are donating a portion of proceeds today from diners. 

By 7 a.m., Spring2ACTion had already raised more than $650,000, much of it through an early giving campaign.

Here are just a few of the businesses supporting Spring2ACTion today: 

• The Patterson Group at TTR | Sotheby's International Realty are buying pastries for Spring2ACTion donors at Misha's on King Street from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
• The Del Ray Business Association will be giving away prizes through raffles all day Wednesday at several restaurants: Piece Out Del Ray, Taquera Pablano, Pork Barrel BBQ, Holy Cow and The Tiki Bar.
• McEnearney Associates Realtors will be giving away Misha's coffee at 520 King St. from 9 - 11 a.m.

Multiple restaurants in Del Ray and Old Town are making donations to various nonprofits: 

• Piece Out Del Ray will donate 10% of all sales to Community Lodgings.
• Pork Barrel BBQ will donate 10% of all sales to ACT for Alexandria.
• Holy Cow will donate 10% of all sales to Neighborhood Health.The Tiki Bar will donate 10% of all sales to Community Lodgings.
• Taquera Pablano will donate 10% of all sales Neighborhood Health and the Boys & Girls Club.
• ESP Tea & Coffee will donate 25-cents for each purchased latte to ALIVE!
• Sonoma Cellar will donate 10% of all sales to ALIVE!
• Also giving back this year: Ada's on the River, Barca Wine Bar, Chadwicks, Daniel O'Connell's Irish Restaurant & Pub, Joe Theismann's Restaurant, King & Rye, Mia's Italian Kitchen, Salon deZEN, The Majestic Cafe, and Vola's Dockside Grill.
