Magnolia Network promotes two executives ahead of linear launch - Realscreen

Magnolia Network, Discovery’s joint venture with Chip and Joanna Gaines, has upped two executives on the leadership team.

Lauren Frasca, former vice president of content, has been promoted to senior vice president of content and strategy; and Sarah Kuban, former vice president of content, has been elevated to senior vice president of content and special projects.

In their new roles, the pair will oversee all content production and development for the joint venture. They will both report directly to Magnolia’s global president, Allison Page.

In her previous role as VP of content at Magnolia Network, Frasca (pictured left) helped manage content strategy and creative across both linear and DTC platforms, as well as overseeing series such as Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines, Fixer Upper: Welcome Home, For the Love of Kitchens and Super Dad. She joined the Discovery joint venture in October 2019 following a stint at Facebook’s Creative Shop Studio, where she worked with networks, studios and other content creators like Conde Nast, Disney, Group 9, and Refinery29 to create and monetize content across Facebook’s platforms. She’s also held positions at MSNBC, The Weather Channel, Bravo, Wall to Wall Media, Atlas Media and NBCUniversal.

Kuban (pictured right) has spent the past 12 years developing programming for HGTV and DIY, cultivating dozens of new series for both networks including Windy City Rehab, Stone House Revival, Restoring Galveston and Rock the Block. As a production executive with Magnolia, Kuban has spearheaded content creation, developing new series for the network such as Restoration Road with Clint Harp, Home Work, Family Dinner, Growing Floret and Point of View: A Designer Profile.

Magnolia Network will make its linear debut on January 5, 2022 as a full rebrand of the existing DIY Network.
