It was a ceremony designed to honor all veterans for their service to our country and the event was appreciated by all those in attendance. Bill Cook, director of Plumas County Veteran’s Services and a veteran himself, had this to say; “I am so thankful for the administration at FRC for putting on this event. When talking to other members of the VFW and community, it was so well received and appreciated, and they cannot wait until next year.”
The celebration ended with a free meal and cake provided by the college to all in attendance. It was a special moment seeing all the local veterans conversing with college and community members about their past, regaling everyone with tales of their adventures in the service, and having an opportunity to share their stories with others.
In addition, FRC plans to open a new Veterans Resource Center soon and looks forward to serving even more service members. Feather River College would like to send a sincere thank you to all veterans for their dedication and service to our country. As a reminder, the campus is closed on November 11th in observance of this very important holiday.
