The Vacaville High girls tennis team beat Rodriguez 6-3 on Tuesday in the Monticello Empire League opener.
The Bulldogs picked up four wins in singles play, led by No. 1 player Nia Macay, who won 6-1, 6-0. At No. 4 Victoria Silva won 6-4, 6-1, at No. 5 Stephanie Esquivel won 7-5, 5-7 (10-2) and at No. 6 Sophie Foderaro won 7-5, 7-5.
In doubles, the No. 2 team of Cameron Gonzalez and Hadel Martin won 6-4, 6-1 and at No. 3 the duo of Emily Pehl and Alexis Gromley won 6-1, 6-2.
