SEATTLE — The city of Seattle is holding pop-up vaccination clinics this week and partnering with local business to offer incentives for those who get the shot.

The clinics, run by the Seattle Fire Department, are part of an effort to boost COVID-19 vaccines and bring them directly to residents in high-traffic areas of the city.

“We know that Seattle’s road to recovery starts with vaccinations, and we won’t be able to truly reopen and gather safely until the vast majority of us are vaccinated,” Mayor Jenny Durkan said.

The pop-ups are happening this Thursday and Saturday in Fremont, Ballard and West Seattle. The clinics are offering the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines and can administer second doses if the person provides proof of the first shot.

The local businesses will also offer incentives at each pop-up. Fremont Coffee Company is offering a free coffee a treat to the first 50 customers, Salt & Straw is offering free ice cream to the first 50 customers and Husky Deli is offering ice cream to the first 50 customers.
