The Solano College women’s volleyball team defeated Siskiyous 25-13, 25-17, 25-10 on Friday in nonleague play.
Sammy Brown led the Falcons (6-9) with 12 kills and 12 digs. Dani Rydjord added 10 kills and a block.
Chris Cruz had nine kills, two blocks and five digs. Mylie Moli led the defense with 10 digs and added six kills.
Kailyn Kaiser had nine digs and served 11 of 12 at the line with an ace. Jeryn Baldonado led the offense with 34 assists and two aces. Gina Garlick added four kills and a block.
“I am happy for the win; we have been pushing ourselves and working hard in practice to add to our win column,” said coach Darla Williams. “We passed really well, which allowed up to get our middle hitters involved with the offense. Jeryn did a great job running the court today as the lone setter.”
Solano travels to Ohlone on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. match.

Strong throws for 262 yards in loss
Will C. Wood grad Carson Strong was 27 of 40 passing for 262 yards with a touchdown and interception for Nevada in the Wolf Pack’s 38-17 loss to Kansas State on Saturday.
“I think Carson did some good things,” Nevada coach Jay Norvell said to the Associated Press. “He had the one turnover and we just didn’t take advantage of our opportunities. We have to run the ball more effectively and play some complementary football.”
Will Howard pushed into the end zone on a 1-yard touchdown run to cap a 21-point fourth quarter, which sealed the victory for Kansas State.
Deuce Vaughn led the rushing attack for the Wildcats with 127 yards and a touchdown en route to the win. Vaughn has eclipsed 1,000 career yards rushing in only 13 games as a Wildcat. The sophomore running back reached the 1,000 milestone a game faster than Kansas State legend Darren Sproles.
