Nonprofit Organizations Hispanic Star, Love Soldiers Create Multistate Campaign

Scotch Plains, NJ — Adriana Rozo-Angulo saw the damaging and devastating effects that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused to America’s Hispanic communities with growing job losses and a rise in infections. The Hispanic Star “Month of Action” will begin on Thursday, May 21, to elevate our Hispanic community across the United States through hub leaders.

Adriana Rozo-Angulo took action to alleviate the pain and suffering by launching the NJ Hub Project to help small business to recover. This project is done through the nationwide Hispanic Day of Action presented by the nonprofit Hispanic Star on Thursday, May 21.

Hispanic Star, a collective platform that unifies Hispanics in the US and celebrates their contributions, is presented by We Are All Human, a national nonprofit whose mission is to advocate for every human to be respected and empowered by focusing on our common humanity.

Local Latino leaders, known as Hispanic Star Hub Leaders, such as Adriana  are one of many participating in several major American cities such as Chicago, Dallas, Miami, New York City and Philadelphia to either activate a recovery plan or launch charitable projects to support the Hispanic community. These leaders will do this along with Love Soldiers, a McAllen, Texas-based nonprofit which is also Hispanic Star’s operational and fundraising arm.

Adriana’s hub project will offer support to Hispanic small business owners to pivot their strategies to adjust to the new normal and comply with the safety regulations. The hub is also joining efforts to donate 10K to help business to pay for one month of rent.

“This pandemic has deprived many Hispanic residents across the country of essential resources to help them subsist,” said Adriana. “We and many other Hispanic Star Hub Leaders have risen to the call, and we are focusing on what are the important areas: providing food distribution to residents and healthcare workers, assisting small businesses and university students and giving financial literacy and empowerment.”

Hispanic Star is also asking the public to contribute in other ways such as making financial, food PPE and essential product donations, registering for the 2020 Census, using the #HispanicStarInAction on social media to thank healthcare and essential workers, creating a project with your company or volunteer virtually or safely help with local response efforts.

Leaders such as Adriana Rozo-Angulo know that their efforts will energize others to continue their work beyond COVID-19.

“This positive campaign is showing to the world how the powerful combination of strength, ingenuity and compassion can immediately come together to help people in need,” Adriana Rozo-Angulo
