Food Network has ordered more “Good Eats: The Return” featuring the incomparable Atlanta food impresario Alton Brown.
Kathleen Finch, chief lifestyle brands officer at Food Network parent company Discovery Inc., broke the news to The Wrap Thursday:
“Isn’t [Alton] amazing? He’s one of those guys… I wish we could get it done faster,” Finch said. “He writes it, he conceives it, directs it, he’s just this craftsman with these shows, which is why they are so amazing. It does take a little while to get it right.”
Brown, who shoots “Good Eats” locally, brought the show back last year after an 11-year hiatus. Food Network aired 11 episodes last year for what was its 15th season.
The show is a mix of food history, recipes and bizarre humor, written in a way that is quintessentially Brown. He has been staple on the Food Network for the past two decades on a variety of shows including “Iron Chef America” and “Cutthroat Kitchen.”
Finch, though, said she has no idea when the 16th season will air, that Brown works on his own timetable.
