Dr. Alison Wilson and Dr. Laura Lasack, along with Deb Wollam, Executive Director at McFarland Clinic in Marshalltown, presented Marshalltown Area United Way’s (MAUW’s) Executive Director, Kendra Sorensen, with a check on Tuesday, Dec. 21. A total gift of $12,349.50 was designated to MAUW by physicians and employees through their internal 2021 Annual Giving Campaign.
“McFarland physicians and staff value the services of the United Way and partner agencies which help to enhance the health and wellbeing of our community,” said Dr. Alison Wilson, General Surgeon and Medical Director for McFarland Clinic Marshalltown. “Our staff believe in the good work of the United Way and have generously supported it for many years.”
Sorensen, along with Kris & Shannon Naughton, 2021 United Way Campaign Co-Chairs and Owners/Operators of ServiceMaster of Marshalltown, not only thanked McFarland Clinic for their monetary contribution, but also extended sincere gratitude for being essential frontline workers during the pandemic.
The campaign has slightly more than $121,000 to raise with a few weeks remaining.
“Everything helps. I had someone tell me that they would only be able to give around $5 or $10, and my response was ‘Awesome!’ It doesn’t matter if you can give $5, $50, $500 or $5,000 – taking your hard-earned money and passing it onto a group that can help facilitate the health of our community is invaluable,” Shannon said. “By giving what you can, you are an instrumental part of our town’s people feeling cherished, and that will lead to them becoming prosperous. There are so many needs in our community, and you can help. If you haven’t already done so, please consider supporting Marshalltown Area United Way because our town needs all of us to be fruitful so we can all be successful!”
