soworos.blogspot.com

KALAMAZOO, MI-- It is getting chilly in West Michigan, so why not fill your belly with some warm pizza?

The Kalamazoo area is home to dozens of pizza shops including local restaurants and both local and chains. Today we are focusing on just a handful of the favorite pizza places in town.

Whether you like your crust thin or thick, or prefer traditional toppings or more creative pies, Kalamazoo has got you covered.

Many of the community’s locally owned pizza joints have been serving pizza lovers for decades, but there have also been some new additions this year. Buddy’s Pizza, which claims to be the birthplace of the original Detroit-style pizza, opened a location in Portage earlier this year. More recently, Benny DiCarta’s opened in downtown Kalamazoo, at 232 E. Michigan Ave., offering a taste of the famous New York style.

Here are eight local pizzerias that will satisfy your craving. Hours listed may differ for upcoming holidays, and amid the coronavirus pandemic.
