Tis the season to shop local! South Mississippi businesses and business leaders are stocking up and looking forward to Christmas shopping season.
2020 has been packed with challenges, but you and yours don’t have to have a blue Christmas, but you can be decked out by Dressed in Blue, a locally owned store with all sorts of sparkle and bling for that special woman, or girl, in your life. This Gulfport shop is stocked up and looking forward to a much-needed holiday boost. Brooke Broadus with Dressed in Blue said, “It’s our favorite time of the year. We are geared up. We are ready. We have packages rolling in every day. We have our Christmas stuff, our girls’ stuff, our women’s and plus! We are ready for the holiday season.”
Did you know that 67-cents on every dollar spent at local small businesses goes right back here into our local community? Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce CEO Adele Lyons said, “There’s a way to help those businesses keep that money in town here locally. When you shop with local businesses 67-cents of every dollar stays in the community, as compared to with a Big Box, which is 43-cents. So, it’s so important for us to shop here with our local merchants who provide so many jobs and give back to our community on a daily basis.”
After all, it is the season of giving and it is better to give than receive.
