As the holidays near, restaurant and foodservice leaders are getting creative for you.
"There are so many restaurants in Rochester alone that are going to be doing this that I think people can enjoy themselves, enjoy fewer people, and enjoy maybe not cooking on Thanksgiving, and at the same time be supporting your local businesses," Harrington said.
From the traditional servings, "Stuffing, cranberry sauce, maple sweet potatoes, handcrafted pies," Windt said.
To in-person dining and take out options, "Being open on Thanksgiving is kind of one of the more fun days of the year because you are busy and people are in good spirits," Front House Manager at Five West, Jason Arechigo said.
Every purchase can make a difference.
"It is hard for families to gather with the pandemic going on. It is one a really good way to support the local businesses that have had an incredibly hard eight months, and two have a restaurant-quality meal in the comfort of your own home," Cameo Owner, Zach Ohly said.
2020 could be the year you take a break from cooking that holiday feast and let the local restaurant employees do the work.
"We want you to come out and support the local scene, it will help us survive," Arechigo said.
A small thing we can all take part in, Harrington said, "So the more we can do to support our small business, the more we are going to do for our friends and neighbors to stay employed, and to help our community recover."
That could help make a big impact on the recovery of some of the businesses hit the hardest.
- Bleu Duck will offer takeout pick up the day before and on Thanksgiving.
- Cameo is offering both traditional thanksgiving and some restaurant favorites for the Holiday.
- Canadian Honker will have limited dine-in, individual take out, and family-style take out the day of Thanksgiving.
- Catering by Design is offering takeout meals for Thanksgiving in small and large portion sizes.
- Five West will offer in-person dining as well as dinner packages to pre-order.
