Not all of us were born to be positioned behind a desk and in front of a computer. Some love getting their hands dirty, and diving right into their profession, and the UA Local 85 is searching for 
those who ‘fit the bill’.
“We are looking for people who love working with their hands, and who are mechanically inclined,” says Local 85’s business agent, Clint Steele. “We want someone who can work outside and inside, and ready for the challenge”.
Based out of Saginaw, the UA Local 85 has successfully grown throughout the years – and helps connect skilled laborers with employers, while providing ‘support’ for those who join the union.
“Right now, we are looking to fill positions in HVC heating ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration technicians, as well as plumbers and pipe welders,” Steele added. “All of these skills are in high demand right now”.
For those who are not as experienced – but looking for a new skill to master, the Saginaw UA Local 85 also offers an apprenticeship in pipe trades and HVACR & plumbing service tech. Those who are accepted into this program will have a chance to learn a trade while earning money.
