October 4, 2020 – MLB Network today announced coverage details for its two exclusive game telecasts of the National League Division Series presented by Doosan, marking the ninth consecutive year that MLB Network will exclusively televise two Division Series games.
Matt Vasgersian, Jim Kaat, Buck Showalter and reporter Tom Verducci will be on the call for MLB Network’s telecast of NLDS Game 2 featuring the Miami Marlins against the Atlanta Braves this Wednesday, October 7 at 2:08 p.m. ET, live from Houston’s Minute Maid Park. This will mark the first-ever Postseason game telecast that Showalter has been in the booth for.
Vasgersian will then be joined by Hall of Famer John Smoltz and reporter Jon Morosi for MLB Network’s telecast of NLDS Game 3 featuring the Los Angeles Dodgers against the San Diego Padres this Thursday, October 8 at 9:08 p.m. ET, live from Globe Life Field in Arlington. MLB Network’s coverage of its two NLDS game telecasts will be presented by GEICO.
For Wednesday’s Marlins – Braves matchup in Houston, MLB Network will utilize “Speed Cam,” which made its Major League Baseball debut on an MLB Network Showcase game telecast this past regular season. “Speed Cam” will be placed on tracks on top of the first base dugout, allowing the camera to move along at a speed in excess of the fastest runner going from home plate to first base. The angle will provide fans with a stronger sense of the speed of the game by providing a field-level camera shot of the action.
MLB Tonight presented by Evan Williams Bourbon will air before and after every Postseason game, with Scott Braun, Lauren Gardner, Jon Morosi and Stephen Nelson reporting on-site in Houston, Los Angeles, San Diego and Texas. MLB Network will televise more than 200 hours of live Postseason coverage with special editions of its studio shows, including MLB Central presented by Citrix and co-hosted by Robert Flores, Mark DeRosa and Lauren Shehadi, High Heat presented by Liberty Mutual Insurance and hosted by Christopher Russo, The Rundown, MLB Now presented by Fisher Investments and hosted by Brian Kenny, and Intentional Talk presented by Taco Bell and co-hosted by Chris Rose and Kevin Millar. MLB Network’s daily Postseason programming schedule is available here.
To make MLB Network’s Postseason coverage, including its two NLDS game telecasts, available to more viewers, MLB Network has partnered with several of its distributors to expand their existing carriage by providing a free preview of MLB Network from Oct. 3-17 to video customers of AT&T U-verse, Altice (Optimum), Comcast, Cox, DirecTV, DISH Network, fuboTV, RCN, Sling TV, Verizon Fios and many others, bringing MLB Network’s distribution for that period to more than 80 million homes. MLB Network’s NLDS game telecasts are also available anywhere in the United States via an authenticated live stream to customers of participating pay TV providers through the MLB app, MLBNetwork.com/Watch and MLB.TV.
@MLBNetwork will provide extensive complementary coverage of the Postseason across social media including:
