DUKE VS. UNC...
One of the greatest rivalry in sports will resume Sunday in Durham, N.C., as Duke and North Carolina will tangle at Koskinen Stadium.  The Tar Heels lead the overall series, 40-3-3.

In matches played in Durham, N.C., the Blue Devils are 0-16-2.  The last two meetings in Durham have been scoreless draws in double-overtime in 2019 and 2016.

Duke and UNC will play twice in 2020.  The Sept. 27 meeting will be an ACC match, while the Oct. 23 contest will be a non-conference contest.

Head coach Robbie Church is 2-19-3 all-time against Wake Forest.

WHAT HAPPENED IN THE LAST MEETING...
Brooke Heinsohn made eight saves over 110 minutes as Duke and North Carolina played to a 0-0 double-overtime draw in Durham, N.C., in a non-conference battle.  UNC outshot Duke, 18-6

AT HOME IN KOSKINEN STADIUM...
Over the last four years at home in Koskinen Stadium, the Blue Devils have registered a 21-2-9 record.  During that streak, Duke has outscored its opponents by a 97-20 ledger.

NOTING DUKE...
•  It marks the first time in school history the Blue Devils have opened the season with three straight overtime contests.
•  Marykate McGuire now owns 12 career assists and 40 points as a Blue Devil.  She leads Duke with six points on the season in two matches.
•  Senior Lily Nabet missed the last two games with an injury and is listed as day-to-day.
•  Delaney Graham, a preseason All-ACC selection, was sidelined with an injury against Wake Forest in the last game and is listed as day-to-day.
•  Duke had to come-from-behind in its first two matches to open the season.

COSME DOING IT ON BOTH ENDS...
One of the leaders on defense for the Blue Devils, Caitlin Cosme, is now becoming one of the top goal scorers for Duke.  Cosme collected Duke's first goal in each of the first two contests for the Blue Devils.

She notched a header off a corner kick at Wake Forest to give Duke a 1-0 lead early.  Cosme then finished the equalizer against Virginia in the second half off a free kick to send the Blue Devils to a draw with the Cavaliers.

Cosme has tallied three career goals in 30 games, while attempting 10 shots.

She was selected to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week on Tuesday, after scoring against Wake Forest and connecting 93 percent of her passes over the two matches.

JONES MAKES FIRST COLLEGIATE STARTS...
After seeing limited action as a rookie, sophomore Ruthie Jones made her first two collegiate starts this past week against Virginia and Wake Forest.   She played 220 minutes, made eight saves and collected a 0.41 goals against average.

She made a solid impression in her first collegiate start versus Virginia.  The Cavaliers feature one of the top offensives nationally. Jones played 110 minutes and had six saves, while allowing only one goal in a rainstorm.

Jones came back Sunday against Wake Forest and played 110 minutes, notched two saves and stopped a Demon Deacon penalty kick with under two minutes remaining in regulation.

She earned honorable mention TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week honors for her efforts.

OVERTIME AGAIN...
For the first time in school history, Duke has opened the season with three straight overtime matches.  Dating back to last season, the Blue Devils have featured 11 overtime contests out of 23 matches.

Over the last two seasons, Duke's 11 overtime matches are the most in the ACC -- Duke (11), Wake Forest (9), Virginia (7), Pitt (7), NC State (6), Notre Dame (3), North Carolina (3), Miami (3), Virginia Tech (3), Louisville (2), Boston College (2), Syracuse (2) and Florida State (0).

NO BETTER PLACE THAN HOME...
Duke will welcome North Carolina to Koskinen Stadium, which will mark the third of five straight home matches for the Blue Devils.  In fact, those five home matches are all Duke will have this season.  The Blue Devils will close the fall campaign with five consecutive road contests.

FRESHMEN MAKE STARTS...
A pair of Duke freshmen -- Emily Royson and Olivia Migli -- made their first collegiate starts over the weekend against Wake Forest.  Royson played all 110 minutes on defense and helped Duke register its first shutout of the season.  Migli took the Blue Devils' first two shots of the match and played 66 minutes up front for Duke's offense.

A total of five Duke freshmen saw action against Wake Forest -- Royson, Migli, Grace Watkins, Nicole Chico and Maggie Graham.

HEY, I KNOW YOU!...
Duke's Remi Swartz and UNC's Brianna Pinto are very close friends.  They played together from age 14-18. Swartz works with Pinto's father, Hassan, on a podcast called Blue Blood Rivalry.  It is about UNC and Duke sports and the rivalry between them.  Swartz is the pundit, there is a UNC pundit and then Hassan is the moderator.

Natasha Turner of Duke played with UNC's Laura Sparling, Miah Araba and Natalie Chandler from U-11/U-12 through U-17 at Triangle United.  Sparling and Turner moved to CASL ECNL for U-18.  Turner, Sparling and Araba also attended Carrboro H.S., and won three state championships.

Maggie Graham and Talia Dellaperuta of UNC played Tophat soccer together.

Delaney Graham of Duke and Maycee Bell of North Carolina played U-8 soccer against each other in Wichita, Kan.  Delaney along with Rachel Jones and Brianna Pinto of UNC played Tophat soccer together.

Ruthie Jones of Duke and Claudia Dickey and Mary Elliot McCabe of UNC are very close friends.  They played on the same high school/club soccer teams.  Dickey and Jones trained together for goalkeeper training, basketball practice and soccer team trainings.  They would ride together back and forth from club and basketball practices.

MCGUIRE IS GOLDEN AT WAKE FOREST...
Junior Marykate McGuire scored two goals over the final 8:05 at Wake Forest in the season opener to push Duke past the Demon Deacons, 4-3, in overtime.

With under three minutes remaining in regulation and Duke trailing 3-2, McGuire collected the equalizing goal with 2:16 on the clock to send the match to overtime, off assists from Mia Gyau and Sophie Jones.  Then at the 95:08 mark, McGuire showcased some impressive footwork doing a 360 degree turn and finished with her left foot near the right post to give Duke the golden goal victory, 4-3, off assists from Taylor Mitchell and Jones.  The goal was the sixth-quickest in overtime in Duke history.

McGuire attempted a school-record 10 shots and collected her second multi-goal performance of her career.  She was rewarded for her efforts this week being named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week and to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week.

JONES COLLECTS CAREER HIGH...
After collecting one assist over 10 matches as a freshman, sophomore Sophie Jones registered two assists in the season opener at Wake Forest.  Jones is one of the top play-makers in the ACC and is coming off suffering a torn ACL during her rookie campaign and only playing 10 contests.

MULTIPLE GOALS IN SEASON OPENER...
Duke junior Marykate McGuire collected two goals in the season opener at Wake Forest.  She became the 10th Blue Devil to score two goals in a season opener in school history -- Taylor Racioppi (2015), KayAnne Gummersall (2009, 2008), Carolyn Riggs (2003), Alison Sanders (2001), Gwendolyn Oxenham (2000), Emily Feeney (1997), Kelly Walbert (1995), Caitlin Connolly (1990, 1989) and Katie Spencer (1988).

EXPERIENCED GROUP...
Duke returns 10 starters and 21 letterwinners from a year ago to make up a very experienced squad for head coach Robbie Church.  The Blue Devils' entire backline is back with Taylor Mitchell, Delaney Graham, Caitlin Cosme and Mia Gyau featuring a combined 14,275 minutes, 179 games played and 147 starts over the last four years.

TRIO OF CAPTAINS...
In a vote by the team, a Duke will boast a trio of captains for the 2020 campaign -- Tess Boade, Caitlin Cosme and Lily Nabet
