The company plans to open a food truck, Local Green Orlando, at Disney Springs this month — although an exact opening date was not announced.
According to its website, Local Green describes itself as a “fast casual restaurant whose mission is to redefine healthy, affordable food." At its Atlanta location, the restaurant serves a mostly plant-based menu with a focus on vegan, vegetarian and pescatarian dishes.
The restaurant was founded in 2017 by songwriter Zachary “Big Zak” Wallace, who, after growing up in a food desert in southwest Atlanta, said he felt compelled to provide healthier food options in his community.
“We are thrilled to bring our delicious vegetarian and pescatarian menu options to visitors at Disney Springs,” Wallace said in a release. “Our mission is to help communities live healthier and more sustainably by making better choices.”
Although the Local Green Orlando menu has not been released, the website for the Atlanta location shows a menu with dishes such as “Rappers Delight” Salmon Philly, “Dumbo” Mexican Street Corn, “Oh Boy” classic beyond cheeseburger, Cajun “Air” Fries and “Power” Kale Salad.
Disney Springs currently has a few food trucks among its dining options, including the 4 Rivers Cantina Barbacoa Food Truck and the Mac & Cheese Food Truck.
