NEED TO KNOW

•    Junior Delaney Graham, who was recently moved to forward,  will sing the national anthem on Sunday.
•    Duke has failed to score a goal in the last two matches and scored only one goal over the last three contests.
•    The last time Duke opened conference play winless over three matches was in 2015
•    A trio of seniors, Caitlin Cosme, Tess Boade and Lily Nabet were voted captains for the 2020 campaign.
•    The Blue Devils brought the fifth-ranked recruiting class to Durham this year, marking the ninth-straight year Church has delivered a top 10 signing class.

NATIONAL ANTHEM...
Preseason All-ACC selection Delaney Graham will sing the national anthem before the match on Sunday versus Clemson.

It will mark the third time she has sang the national anthem at a women's soccer match and the first time in 2020.  She has also sang the national anthem at a Duke baseball game, while also joining he Lady Blue a cappella group to sing at a Blue Devil men's basketball game.

She has also performed "If I Ain't Got You" by Alicia Keys at Duke STARS as a freshman. This past March, Graham and her Duke a cappella group Lady Blue released four songs on Apple Music and Spotify.  The EP is called Dandelion and the song, 66 Days, features Graham as the lead solo.

DUKE VS. CLEMSON...
Duke will look to extend its win streak to three games against Clemson as the Blue Devils welcome the Tigers to Koskinen Stadium Sunday.  The overall series record is currently tied, 13-13-1.

In matches played in Durham, N.C., the Blue Devils are 8-5.  In the last three meetings in Durham, Duke has outscored Clemson 7-2.

Head coach Robbie Church is 7-13-1 all-time against Clemson.

WHAT HAPPENED IN THE LAST MEETING...
Marykate McGuire and Mackenzie Pluck scored two goals each to help propel the Blue Devils by Clemson, 4-1, on Oct. 13, 2019 in Durham, N.C. Goalkeeper Brooke Heinsohn faced 13 shots, tallying five saves in 90 minutes. Clemson outshot Duke, 13-8.

NEED SOME GOALS...
Since opening the season with four goals at Wake Forest, the Blue Devils have scored only one goal over the last three matches.

GRAHAM MOVES TO FORWARD...
After playing the last two seasons on the defensive end and even earning All-ACC honors for the position, Duke head coach Robbie Church moved junior Delaney Graham to the forward slot in the last match against UNC to try to capitalize on her speed and create more offense.

Graham nearly made a splash in the first two minutes with a great chance at a goal that was saved by UNC.  She led Duke with three shots and was very impressive overall creating offense for the Blue Devils.

It marked the first time since her junior year of high school Graham played up front.  That season for Westminster Schools, Graham notched 20 goals and 12 assists.

AT HOME IN KOSKINEN STADIUM...
Over the last four years at home in Koskinen Stadium, the Blue Devils have registered a 21-3-9 record.  During that streak, Duke has outscored its opponents by a 97-22 ledger.

SLOW START IN CONFERENCE PLAY...
Duke has opened league play with a 0-1-2 mark over three matches.  It is the first time since 2015 the Blue Devils have gone winless to open ACC action through three matches.

In 2015, Duke started 0-2-2, but closed strong to finish with a 4-3-3 record in the ACC.

HEY, I KNOW YOU!...
Delaney Graham and Jackson Moeller of Clemson played Tophat Soccer together and are very close friends.

Emmy Duerr and Remi Swartz played for the same club team as Clemson's Madi Reid and Grace Wagner although Swartz never officially played with Wagner.

NOTING DUKE...
•  Marykate McGuire now owns 12 career assists and 40 points as a Blue Devil.  She leads Duke with six points on the season in four matches.
•  Duke had to come-from-behind in its first two matches to open the season.

OVERTIME AGAIN...
For the first time in school history, Duke opened the season with three straight overtime matches.  Dating back to last season, the Blue Devils have featured 11 overtime contests out of 23 matches.

Over the last two seasons, Duke's 11 overtime matches are the most in the ACC -- Duke (11), Wake Forest (9), Virginia (8), Pitt (8), NC State (6), Notre Dame (3), North Carolina (3), Miami (3), Virginia Tech (3), Louisville (2), Boston College (2), Syracuse (2) and Florida State (0).

NO BETTER PLACE THAN HOME...
Duke will welcome Clemson to Koskinen Stadium, which will mark the fourth of five straight home matches for the Blue Devils.  In fact, those five home matches are all Duke will have this season.  The Blue Devils will close the fall campaign with five consecutive road contests.

STUDENT-ATHLETES...
For the 18th year in a row, Duke women's soccer earned the Team Academic Award for its exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2019-20 academic year.

The Blue Devils excelled academically a year ago with returning student-athletes Brooke Heinsohn, Karlie Paschall, Delaney Graham, Marykate McGuire, Mackenzie Pluck and Sophie Jones earning All-ACC Academic Team honors.  As a team, Duke collected a 3.501 grade-point average in the Fall and then closed with a 3.858 average in the Spring.

COSME DOING IT ON BOTH ENDS...
One of the leaders on defense for the Blue Devils, Caitlin Cosme, is now becoming one of the top goal scorers for Duke.  Cosme collected Duke's first goal in each of the first two contests for the Blue Devils.

She notched a header off a corner kick at Wake Forest to give Duke a 1-0 lead early.  Cosme then finished the equalizer against Virginia in the second half off a free kick to send the Blue Devils to a draw with the Cavaliers.

Cosme has tallied three career goals in 30 games, while attempting 10 shots.

She was selected to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week last Tuesday, after scoring against Wake Forest and connecting 93 percent of her passes over the two matches.

MCGUIRE IS GOLDEN AT WAKE FOREST...
Junior Marykate McGuire scored two goals over the final 8:05 at Wake Forest in the season opener to push Duke past the Demon Deacons, 4-3, in overtime.

With under three minutes remaining in regulation and Duke trailing 3-2, McGuire collected the equalizing goal with 2:16 on the clock to send the match to overtime, off assists from Mia Gyau and Sophie Jones.  Then at the 95:08 mark, McGuire showcased some impressive footwork doing a 360 degree turn and finished with her left foot near the right post to give Duke the golden goal victory, 4-3, off assists from Taylor Mitchell and Jones.  The goal was the sixth-quickest in overtime in Duke history.

McGuire attempted a school-record 10 shots and collected her second multi-goal performance of her career.  She was rewarded for her efforts this week being named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week and to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week.

JONES COLLECTS CAREER HIGH...
After collecting one assist over 10 matches as a freshman, sophomore Sophie Jones registered two assists in the season opener at Wake Forest.  Jones is one of the top play-makers in the ACC and is coming off suffering a torn ACL during her rookie campaign and only playing 10 contests.

MULTIPLE GOALS IN SEASON OPENER...
Duke junior Marykate McGuire collected two goals in the season opener at Wake Forest.  She became the 10th Blue Devil to score two goals in a season opener in school history -- Taylor Racioppi (2015), KayAnne Gummersall (2009, 2008), Carolyn Riggs (2003), Alison Sanders (2001), Gwendolyn Oxenham (2000), Emily Feeney (1997), Kelly Walbert (1995), Caitlin Connolly (1990, 1989) and Katie Spencer (1988).

EXPERIENCED GROUP...
Duke returns 10 starters and 21 letterwinners from a year ago to make up a very experienced squad for head coach Robbie Church.  The Blue Devils' entire backline is back with Taylor Mitchell, Delaney Graham, Caitlin Cosme and Mia Gyau featuring a combined 14,275 minutes, 179 games played and 147 starts over the last four years.

TRIO OF CAPTAINS...
In a vote by the team, a Duke will boast a trio of captains for the 2020 campaign -- Tess Boade, Caitlin Cosme and Lily Nabet
