Over 1,000 Vermont Businesses Have Registered to Offer Deals to Vermonters
Vermont Business Magazine The Agency of Commerce and Community Development (ACCD) will launch the Buy Local Vermont Program to consumers on Tuesday, September 8 at 11 am. The program is funded through a $500,000 dollar allocation of Federal Coronavirus Relief Funds. More than 1,000 Vermont businesses have already enrolled in the program, which offers deals to Vermonters in the form of discounts.
On Tuesday, September 8 at 11 am, Vermonters will be able to register for the Buy Local Vermont program at www.thinkvermont.com/local and redeem a $30 discount offer from a participating local business. To ensure equity in the distribution of the funds, each Vermont household can only enroll once and will be matched with two discount offers from businesses that they can choose from. As an offer is chosen, funds are immediately transferred directly to business.
“The Buy Local Vermont Program offers Vermonters the chance to positively impact their local businesses, explore new businesses they have never tried, and enhance their buying power at the stores they love,” said ACCD Secretary Lindsay Kurrle. “The program also funnels much needed economic activity directly to businesses who need it. The funds will be transferred immediately to the business, and we hope that as Vermonters redeem the deals, they will look to spend more than the discount offer in their local downtowns.”
Buy Local Vermont is a first come, first served program that will run until all the funds have been depleted. Businesses are still able to register for the program now and consumers will be able to access the program starting at 11:00AM on Tuesday, September 8.
