‘Elden Ring’ Network Test Beta: How To Play The Game Months Before Release - Forbes

soworos.blogspot.com

Elden Ring, the upcoming open-world RPG from the creators of Dark Souls and Bloodborne, has been delayed.

That’s the bad news.

The good news is two-fold: The delay is only a month, pushing the game back from January 21st to February 25th, a week after the release of Horizon Forbidden West.

The other good news is the announcement of a beta / network test coming this November. This will give some players a chance to try out Elden Ring months before the game hits shelves. As my old pal Solaire would say, “Praise the sun!”

“The network test is a preliminary verification test that allows those who are selected as testers to play the game prior to the official launch of the service,” From Software informs us. “By conducting large-scale network load tests, we will be able to verify various technologies of the online system. This is a test to improve the quality of the product, and playing the network test will be free of charge. We look forward to your cooperation in making ELDEN RING even better.”

Elden Ring Network Test Schedule

The Elden Ring network test runs from November 12th until November 14th but only during specific time blocks. These are:

  • November 12: 3:00 A.M. to 6:00 A.M. PST
  • November 12: 7:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. PST
  • November 13: 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. PST
  • November 14: 3:00 A.M. to 6:00 A.M. PST
  • November 14: 7:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. PST

How To Play The Elden Ring Network Test

Players eager to join the network test have until November 1st to sign up. You can sign up at this link for a chance to be picked as a play-tester. Not everyone who signs up will be chosen.

It’s important to note that the network test is only being held on consoles. PC players will have to wait this one out. Other requirements include:

  • Must be at least 17 years old
  • You must own a PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, Xbox serise X|S and have an internet connection.
  • Be able to actively participate in testing and report any bugs.
  • You agree to the terms of use for the ELDEN RING network test version.
  • To cooperate with the questionnaire after the test.

You’ll also need to have a Bandai Namco account in order to sign up. Players can only sign up for one console per account.

Once you’re registered you’ll need to fill out a 19-question survey about your interest in the game and other games, your consumer tendencies and media use. It’s tedious but not difficult and won’t take you more than a few minutes.

After that, it’s a waiting game to see if you’re picked to play the network test next month. I can’t wait!
